Get Upfront Information
Most modern cars will have a service indicator to remind you when your service is due. This is likely to take into account the time and mileage since your last service.
Details of your car’s recommended service schedule will be in the handbook. Many manufacturer’s recommend getting a service every 10,000 - 20,000 miles depending on the type of car you have.
Some garages sell their services based on a recommended period of time or amount of miles, such as:
- Interim service - After 6 months or 6,000 miles, whichever comes first.
- Full service - After 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first.
- Major service - After 24 months or 24,000 miles, whichever comes first.
If your car isn't behaving as normal or you have dashboard lights on, its an ideal time to contact a mechanic.
There's many reasons a check engine light could be on, but you should immediately stop driving and contact a garage to take a look at the issue,
Very simply, we don't need a lot, we just need your car, your key, and any issues you may have noticed!
